I recently inherited a shoebox full of old photos, my dad gave them to me a few months back. They belonged to my grandmother and my great grandmother. My grandmother and her mother were both born in Tampa. Some photos are actually labeled, Tampa Florida and one in Bradentown. Some have names written on the back, when I look up the names in records, I find most of them lived in Hillsborough County. Alot are not labeled, that's why I need your help in identifying these families. I have about 30 mystery photos posted on my website so far. I sat down last night to count these photos, I counted about 420 pictures, not including the duplicates. I hope to get them all online eventually. Take a look, I hope that you find your ancestor here. May God Bless. http://www.geocities.com/wilkersalis/MollieMooreSalis.html?1161793333623

Hi, Glenda Sue, It's been a long time since we corresponded. Since then we have moved, and I had to change all of my records from hanging files into notebooks, and in the process I checked that everything was entered into the computer, which kept me busy for a couple of years. Then I had cancer surgery followed by a heart attack, so if I'm disorganized it's perhaps understandable. My health is back to normal, (well maybe not mentally, at age 82), and I'm finally getting back my enthusiasm for genealogy. Unfortuately, when I looked for the Godwin Bible records I couldn't find them. I know they are here, but where? Stay tuned, as my husband would say. Don't give up. Where did you get the name Dormany? The only place I have found it is in the History of Zephyrhills, by Trottman, and her account of the Geiger family has so many errors that I don't trust it. She says that Jane Geiger was a Duncan. Eliza Jane was a Carroll, dau. of Jane (Taylor) Duncan's second husband. Jane m. (3) a Tucker, and when he died she resumed the name of her first husband, Dan Duncan. Eliza Jane's death cert. says her father J. Carroll was b. in S. Carolina, but this may not be right. I don't know anything more about him. (Jane lived with my grandmother Ida Bast for many years before her death, and told all of this to the family.) Dan Duncan and Jane Taylor were m. 21 Dec 1831 in Jones Co., GA. They were members of Mountain Springs Primitive Baptist Church when it organized in 1838. Dan d. before 1850. Their children were Robert, Benjamin F., Daniel, Ann ELizabeth (m. 1. John Davis Sims, 2. William Riley Smith), Lucy Duncan (m. Land Tucker), and Bryant Duncan ( he is buried in the Tucker Cem., no dates, Co. B, 2nd Fla. Cav.). All except Bryant were b. in GA; Bryant was b. in ALA. Jane Taylor was b. in May 1816. She m. (2) J. Carroll abt 1851, and Eliza Jane Carroll was b. 26 Nov 1852. I'm sure this if more than you wanted to know. Anyway, back to my question, where did the name Dormany come from? I've gotten nowhere researching it in that time period. Good to hear from you again. In 1989 I visited with Hale Godwin and wife in Tampa, and copied info from the Godwin Family Bible. Abraham Lincoln Godwin d. 26 May 1919 and was buried with his wife. My notes say that Sallie was a tall woman. I have a list of their children if you need it. I would like more info on Mary Annis if you have it. I descend from Jesse Cornelius' brother, John Adam, Jr. > > How do you fit in? > > Marge > [email protected] wrote: > >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XZ.2ADI/119.17.18.1 > >Message Board Post: >i am a decendant of abraham l godwin and sallie geiger. they are both buried at double branch cemetary in pasco county. i just spoke to the woman at the baptist church yesterday and hopefully she and the pastor are going to help me with some information.abraham b 1866 and died 1919. i can't find anything past him it says on the census his mother's name was jane. it says at the cemetary that mary jane godwin donated the property at the church. i am sure that mary jane godwin was his mother. born 1844. maybe we could exchange info. you can reach me at [email protected] my name is sandy > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > >

The obit site for Vera just gives basic info like her name, death date, age. Looks more like a death notice than an obit.
Use the GOOGLE search engine. Type in: "Vera Rosa Ripley" There is an online obit for her. Yvonne
