The only Ays I found was Mattie L. Ays, b. 1 Jan 1893, d. 10 Jan 1972. She is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. However, I noticed in the book that also in Rose Hill cemetery is an Anton Ayes, no birth or death date, just noted interred on 27 Feb 1973. This information was from the cemetery records; evidently no stone exists for this person. It's possible that the Ayes was written incorrectly or difficult to read when these books were created. Elizabeth Goff was the daughter of William Goff and Jincey Wood. Jincey was the sister of Dempsey Wood, born in Ga and died in Madison County, FL. Dempsey Wood was married to Laurania Kemp. Dempsey and Laurania's son, James, was married to my great-grand aunt, Ariminta Snipes, daughter of Uriah and Mary M "Polly" Phillips Snipes. Talk about 6 degrees of separation! I know there are Sweats in Manatee County, FL, where I live--as a matter of fact, our County Supervisor of Elections is named Bob Sweat, in office since 1985. I have also been able to trace relatives down different lines from Madison, Lafayette and Suwannee counties to this area of Florida; for example, two distant cousins of mine work at the Historical Library here, related to me through my Dansby line from Madison County, FL.
