Julia E. was the youngest daughter of Mary (Allen, Smith, Nicks) Valentine. The 1870 Census for Mary Nicks' household does show the younger daughter, named Julia E., age 10. I'll pursue the name of Julia E. Smith's parents. Appreciate the help. Charles

Can you give me the URL for that marriage book? If you look back to 1870 for Mary Nicks, you will find the widow, Mary Nicks with 2 daughters: Fannie & Julia Smith. Mary's 1st husband died in the Civil War and Francis R. Nicks (2nd husband) died before 1870. I think that one of the daughters married and had a daughter named Fannie Julia who mar. Valentine and had the 1876 daughter she named Fannie Julia. Trying to find the death certificate and see if it says who her mother was. Charles
Charles, I find in Hernando County Marriage Book 1, transcribed and online, James Mountain of Hernando married Fannie Valentine of Hernando County 7 Aug 1896. Then I find "Fanny" Valentine as a 4-year-old with parents H.F. and J.E. Valentine on 1880 Hernando County census (Pct. 4). On 1900 census James and Fannie Valentine were living in Spring Lake area of Hernando County with grandmother Mary Valentine. Fannie's birthday is listed as July 1876. I didn't look any further, but bet this is your Fannie J. and that she was a Valentine. Kathleen
In above mentioned cemetery is one Fannie J. Mountain b.7/3/1876-d.12/14/1940. Does anyone know who her parents were? Believe it is either Fannie Smith or Julia Smith from the 1870 U. S. Census for Mary Nicks, wd. with both Julia and Fannie as daughters in her household in Spring Lake, Hernando Co., FL. Mary's 1st husband died in Civil War and 2nd husband, Francis R. Nicks, died before 1870. Charles
Correction: should have been FL RootsWeb. P.65, lists Leon Co. Voters only. J. R. Nicks didn't move to Hernando Co. until 1853. Charles Brian Michaels' Florida Voters 1987 book lists Rueben Manning Store was used as a Voting Precinct, but the index omitted the names. Did the next publication(s) include all voters: Manning, Nicks, Van Brunt, Holland, Bradford, et al? I am researching FRANK BEW in New Port Richey, FL. I received an email sometime ago with the following information re: death: FRANK BEW, 44, New Port Richey, FL 34652, press to process! Needless to say, I didn't press to process and wonder where in the world the email came from! FRANK BEW was born abt. 1855 in PA to THOMAS H. BEW and MARGARET J. KUHN. FRANK BEW was located on the 1870 Census in McClair Twp. Alleghany Co, PA with family. He is not with family in 1880. I cannot find him on Ancestry anywhere! His father , THOMAS H. BEW died 18 March 1886. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette dated 19 March 1886 stated, "all of them are married....". With that I am thinking he is still alive, married and living in PA, except for the email above! I am asking for help......Thank you in advance for your time and energy. It is appreciated.
