He was born November 3, 1933, the son of the late Edgar and Belle Abbott. Jerald faithfully served our country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Doyle E Abbott; and one nephew Eric Abbott. Jerald is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine Abbott; three sons, Craig (Connie) Abbott, Robert (Robin) Abbott, Michael Abbott; one sister-in-law. Lena Mae Abbott; five grandchildren, Amanda (Guy) Carlton, Robbie Abbott, Matthew Abbott, Blaine Abbott, Will Abbott; two nephews, Hugh (Robin) Abbott, and Dennis Abbott. Visitation will be 10-11am Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Fort Green Baptist Church in Fort Green. Service will follow the visitation at 11:00am with Brother Steve McGaughey of Fort Green Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Green Methodist Cemetery.
