Subj: New book on cemeteries in Gadsden County Date: 11/21/99 7:48:26 PM Eastern Standard Time From: angelab_smith@yahoo.com (Angela Smith) Betty Mae, Since you are sending out new cemetery indexes, you may want to share this information. My mother, Barbara Boynton, just published an index of 6 cemeteries in the Concord area and one cemetery in the Scotland area. It is entitled, "Seven Eastern Gadsden County, Florida, Cemeteries with Genealogical Information." It has the Vickers, Concord, Barber, Touchstone, Hand, Finklea, and Scott cemeteries in it. In the Vickers, Concord, and Barber cemeteries, she has genealogical information about most of the people so you can tell who their parents were, who their siblings were, their military service, where their other relatives are buried, where they were born, etc. My mother grew up in Concord and gathered the information tracing her relatives, which are extensively represented in the Concord and Vickers cemeteries. Her book explains how some unrelated people ended up buried in the family cemetery and it contains some family Bible pages, copies of deeds, family trees, family letters, and some good stories about how the cemeteries were started. She has been able to identify many of the unmarked graves through interviews with the older folks in Concord who knew their parents and grandparents were buried there. The book costs $15.00 with an additional $5.00 if it needs to be mailed, and can be obtained from Barbara Boynton, 4005 Danesborough Place, Tallahassee, Florida 32303. Her phone number is 850-514-8856. Angela Boynton Smith 1806 Sunset Lane, Tallahasee, FL 32303 (850)422-1577
