I wanted to summarize my supporting facts which lead me to the conclusion that Solomon Owens, son of STephen of BArnwell Dist, SC, was one and the same as Solomon A. Owens of GAdsden county, FL: 1) Both were born in SC 2) Both had wives named Sarah 3) Both had business/family connections to Beaufort Dist, SC 4) Solomon in SC seems to fade from the record about the time Solomon makes his appearance in Fl. What is the support that Stephen Wesley Owens moved from Barnwell to Gadsden, FL? Dot, you emailed to me that this was the case, and if this is so it makes my argument all the more compelling. Still don't know where Joshua fits in. The family (two sources) maintains that he and Solomon were brothers. Is it possible that he was left out of STephen's will purposefully? We still need to establish who the other Solomon was to differentiate the two. I think he is the one in 1830, not in 1820, in Barnwell, SC. His wife is named Elizabeth, and she remarried soon after he died. She must have been younger. Need to know if Solomon in Gadsden Co, FL left a will. I have never seen one referenced. I have not looked for such in Quincey. Keep in touch. I almost have the original of the deed in Barnwell with Solomon sellling 100a with Sarah marking her dower release. I think this is a pivotal document. Scott Owens
