Janet: So what you are saying is that at least Thomas (yours) and Solomon (maybe mine) arrived in Orangeburg/Barnwell three years after the Rev War and received lands grants at nearly the same time. They apparently came from whereever they came from pretty much together. Might they have been Rev War vets from VA or NC? Like I said, I found a mention of a Solomon Owens in Colonial NC, yet unconfirmed nor cited. Solomon would have been in his thirties during the Revolution, and if he were a prominent planter (in whereever he was then) he likely would have been an officer (or at least my WBTS sense tells me this). Don't really have much experience in researching Rev War service. What do you think? Where do we go from here? Still need to prove Solomon of Gadsden was Solomon the younger of Barnwell. Scott
