I'm doing some personal follow-up research on the early Florida education system (pre-Buckman Act of 1905). I come across the terms "Normals" and "School for Normals" but yet I can't find "Normal" defined. A Normal seems to be a black (or non-white) person who was not deaf, dumb or blind. Have you ever come across this term or a definition? Help Betty
