The Bible record of John Washington Owens does not mention Joshua. It only describes James G. Owens as the son of Solomon and Sarah Owens. I have not researched the census for Joshua as I should have. Need to look more completely. If it is Joshua's mother, assuming he is Solomon's brother and that they were both sons of Stephen and Elizabeth Owens of Barnwell Distr, SC, in the 1840 Census, it would fit with happenings in Barnwell Distr, SC. Stephen's estate was in dispute until 1833, when the youngest son Stephen Wesley Owens and Margaret (marked with "M" just as young Stephen's grandmother did) Owens finalized the sale of the estate lands to settle debts. Elizabeth, the widow, is last listed in the estate proceedings in 1832. Will have to look at the Census more closely when the next blue moon appears coinciding with my free time to do so. Thanks for your input. Let's keep on plugging Scott
