    1. [FLGADSDE] Re: Thoms Owen, Granville County, planter
    2. Anna: No, I don't have the dates on Carolina Elizabeth. I got a birthdate est. of c 1825 from Dot or Janet. The big thing I need in Barnwell Dist/County is proof that my Solomon Owens in Gadsden County, FL is the same as the eldest son of Stephen Owens and grandson of old Solomon Owens in Barnwell Dist, SC. Both were about the same age and both were married to women named Sarah. Solomon and Sarah in Barnwell, SC sell the 100 acres old Stephen gave them at marrage a few months after Stephen wrote his will (and didn't give Solomon anything else). Just as well as after Stephen died, his widow and other sons (younger than Solomon) had to sell what they had been willed just to pay debts old Stephen had with his brothers and others. My Solomon in Gadsden County can be placed there as early as July 14, 1829, when John Miles Owens was born in Gadsden County. Another Solomon shows up in Barnwell Dist, SC in the 1830 Census and in deeds in the 1840's; he apparently died in c1852. I believe that this Solomon was younger and in a different branch of the Barnwell Owens (maybe yours) than Solomon and Stephen. Keep in touch. Scott
