Hi James and Listers, Solomon Barber, son of William Barber and Mary Jane Ashley, is my great great grandfather. I have the marriages records from Decatur County, GA which show that Nancy Lynn was his first wife and Susan Lynn was his second wife. They were the daughters of Lucy Kinsey and David Lynn of Gadsden County. I am still looking for more information on Solomon and Nancy's daughters, Susan and Georgian Barber. I think they may have married and remained in what is now Houston County, AL. James also has George Washington Barber b. 1828 as the husband of Sophia Whiddon Poppell. She was married to a George Washington Barber but not this one b. in 1828 and son of William and Mary Jane Ashley. Both Sophia Whiddon (called Whiddon) and George Washington Barber b. 1853 are buried in the Barber Cemetery in Concord. They are buried next to each other. I have not been able to determine whose son this George Washington Barber was. I really would like to know who this George is and would also like to know what happened to George Washington, b. 1828 and son of William and Mary Jane Ashley. James also has Gerald Barber b. 1822 in Georgia and m. to Elizabeth. I believe that should be Jarrot and his wife was Elizabeth Robinson, Three of Nicholas and Betsy Slade Robinson's children m. three Barbers. Elizabeth and Amarinthin H. Robinson were sisters.
