Thanks to all those that responded to my inquiry on Yellow Fever. Although I did not find any statistics about the epidemic in 1905 I am posting a short summary of what I did find. The following is from "The Florida Coordinating Council on Mosquito Control". Yellow Fever: Like the DEN viruses, YF is a flavivirus. It can be transmitted in a mosquito-man-mosquito cycle Although YF has not been seen in Florida for many decades, it was the scourge of the area until its last appearance in 1905. YF was first seen in Pensacola in 1764, and in 1874 killed 354 of that city's 1400 residents. Similarly, 1500 of Fernadina's 1600 residents were struck by YF in 1877.
