    1. [FLESCAMB] Ira Clinton Howell family - Brent and Pensacola - 1896 -1926
    2. Hello. I am George Clinton Howell Jr. in Montgomery, Alabama. My great-grandfather, Ira Clinton Howell, moved from Dallas or Perry County, Alabama to Escambia County, Florida with his new bride around 1896. He married Robbie Liddell in Dallas County, AL in 1896, and our family story is that they immediately went to Pensacola. We don't know why he went to Pensacola. I believe that Ira and his brothers, Frank Napoleon Howell and George Tilden Howell, all show up in the 1900 Escambia County Census, but I don't know where. Some time around 1926, Ira C. and Robbie moved back to Alabama, to the Pike Road community in eastern Montgomery County. They died there, and most of their descendants still live there, or near to there. I am looking for any information about Ira Clinton Howell and his family in Pensacola during the time they were there. We have family stories that he was a farmer, he worked in a harness or buggy shop, and he may have been a jockey (where?). I am looking to confirm those stories, and find out what else Ira may have done in the Pensacola area during that time. He had at least 7 children, all girls, except my grandfather, George Lewis Howell, born in 1900 in Pensacola. George Lewis married Emmie Irene Kendrick around 1921, in Pensacola, and their family moved to Pike Road, Alabama in the 1930's. If anyone comes across any information on Ira Clinton Howell or his family, please pass it along here, or e-mail me at GeorgeInAL@aol.com. Thank you all.
