There will be a 9:30 am gathering of those interested in restoration of the historic Old Muscogee Cemetery this Saturday, the 25th, at the cemetery. We will begin planning on how to survey the cemetery, so, if you have any experience in this, you would be a very welcome addition to the effort. Bring brush clearing tools as well so we can begin getting the area cleared better for a good survey. We now have up-to-date aerial photos (as of two days ago) of the cemetery courtesy of Dr. Paul Merritt. These photos show traces of old graves not apparent from ground level and will greatly aid the survey effort. Just click on the tombstone icon to enter and go to the Maps and Aerials page. At the bottom of that page are links to the most recent aerials. They are very clear - especially the link to one of the original megabyte sized, unreduced versions.
