    2. The Thomas Family
    3. Hi Richard, Well, I cannot say she isn't a daughter. I have put together a few names that I got from my husband's grandmother and have combined this with some stuff that I have found on the internet so I cannot guarantee complete accuracy but I will give you what I have. I am looking at my notes and I believe it is very likely that she is his daughter though because a Henry Albert Gates is buried right next to John Henry. Actually, the Whitmire Cemetery list that was posted on the Escambia County web site is part of how I was able to put my pieces together. This is what I have: John Henry Thomas b. 20 Nov. 1855 d. 18 May 1923 Son of William Henry Thomas and Rhodia Harper Married Tennessee Harper b. 10 June 1865 d. 19 Dec. 1914 Daughter of Joseph Malone Harper, Jr. and Roxy Ann Adkison Rhodia and Joseph Malone Harper were children of Joseph Malone Harper (who was born in Virginia and died in Coffee County Alabama) and Mariah Stephens. I know of the three sons but I do seem to remember grandma said there was a sister. If you want more on the sons or if you know anything about them, let me know. I got most of my Harper information from a very helpful site: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/a/r/Mary-S-Harper/ I hope this has helped some. I am so happy to finally be able to help someone else since so many wonderful people have helped me in my search. I would love to hear about Florence's family. Let me hear from You. Sincerely, Jenny C. Thomas
