Hello all. I am a new subscriber looking for information about Charles Slater. We have conflicting information as to whether he came from Ireland or Germany. A microfim search at an LDS site lead us down the path that he may have come in through Pensacola. Any matches or ideas as to how we could begin searching ship logs for his name would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. E and also listed as a member of Co. F. Someone else on the internet was looking for a Charles Slater who was too old to fight but played the bagpipes for the Confederate toops. He had the correct family names, thus we are lead to believe, this may be a match.
