    1. [FLESCAMB] Governor's "devious plans" are here !
    2. When the amendments were placed on the ballot, Gov JEB Bush made a "slip" and got quoted that he had some "devious plans" to deal with the amendments if they got passed. And it's not all money either ... The Governor is out to gut state government and put as much as burden as possible on the local governments ... hoping that there are private sources to fund the services the citizens of Florida are losing day by day. The staff at the Archives have been hinting at terrible changes that were forthcoming but this do beat all that I could have imagined !! What plans does he have for the R. A. Gray Building (which has been designed for and developed for the care of those materials)? Is Dept of Mgt Services personnel going to move in and try to do the job these wonderful state library and archives staff have been doing? There's no way DMS (the state personnel system, fleet, and facilities management arm of the state) can gear up to become efficient and effective in this specialized area of preservation and service. The Governor's "devious plans" are indeed nefarious as well as opposed to the intentions and purposes of state government ... to serve the people of this state. My stomach not only churns to think of the effect of such a move, but turns every time I read his name. And he likes to claim he's the Literacy and mentoring governor ! Where are the books coming from if you start tearing out the libraries? By the way, the new FSU president (who has only been in the position for about a month?) says he and the Governor (and his staff of course) have "already" discussed this and Wettherell was ready to accept the responsibility, but only if the materials STAYED at the R. A. Gray building because of the space, staff and access issues !! Hello ??? You can't get to the FSU Strozier library now. And Dept of Env Protection? What's that about? They have the land records, but why would they be interested in census, county government, and pension and military service records? Ms. Sheila Lilia Martin with a little help from Mr. Puddy
