I've wondered the same things myself, why would my gggrandfather sail from Fiume, Austria (now Rijeka, Croatia) to Pensacola when there were all the well known east coast ports that were much larger. I have heard it said that he hauled lumber between the places, but still........there is lumber on the eastern coast also! Nancy
