I'm just getting back into my Pensacola research and would like to know if any changes have been made to procedures at the Genealogy section in the public library before I go (do the film copy machines only take nickels still? Did they get any other dates for the gaps in the newspapers? do they have the films for the Fisher-Pou records or just the indexes that are online?) Also, I'm thinking of going to the courthouse for wills and marriage info. Are copies of marriages there still $1? Is it best to go at the beginning of the week or towards the end? Maura, The film copy machines at the Pensacola library still take only nickles. Don't use the one to the far left by the wall. It gets the money hung up all the time. They don't have any more early newspapers. Try UWF, 2nd floor. Ask Judy Jolly about the Fisher-Pou records. UWF is in the process of copying them. Not sure what the library has at this point. Earlier marriage records are now at the Archives of the Clerk of the Court on Blount St., 2nd block east of Palafox, not at the Court House. Cynthia
