Seeking any living descendants of John Eayers DAVIS and his wife, Sarah CROPP Davis. Sarah Caroline Cropp was born 31 March 1820, died 22 Feburary 1882. She is buried at St. Michael's Cemetery in downtown Pensacola FL. John Eayers Davis is supposed to be buried next to Sarah. We are also looking for the graves of two of their children: Augustus E. Davis, and Mary Elizabeth Davis. If Mary Elizabeth Davis married, we do not know the name of her husband. This line is related to the YONGE line, some of whom are also buried at St. Michaels. Any information about the DAVIS descendants, or contact by them, will be most appreciated! Thank you. Arlene Hampton AHamptonResearch@aol.com
Arlene, Maybe John E. Davis did not have a tombstone. I did not find a Mary Davis, but there are a lot of the Yonge family listed . I am spelling that wrong, but don't have your email in front of me. I did find Augustus E. Davis born in Columbus, Georgia 30 September 1848 and died 27 August 1867 in Pensacola, Florida. That is all it says. Beside him though is a man named Henry David Cropp died 29 April 1868 aged 38 years and that is all it says. Hope this helps, let me know if you need some more.
