I need obituary, death date and burial information for ggrandfather John A. Williams. We think he died in the late 1920's based on recollection of relatives, but so far have not found anything definite. He and his family lived in Escambia County for many years. He is last shown in the census in 1920, as follows: 1920 census Escambia County, FL, roll 219 Vol 12 ed 27 sheet 11, line 36 Williams, J. A. head w m age 70 bn: FL Mary wife w m 65 AL In 1930, his wife Mary (Mollie) is living with their daughter in McDavid, Florida. We will appreciate help from anyone doing lookups. Elizabeth and John Williams

John and Elizabeth, I can give you the following info, but it may NOT be pertinent to your quest: ===================================== From VOLUME I, "Gravestone Registry": ---------------------------------------------------------------- John A. WILLIAMS headstone info:: b. Nov 23, 1943 d. Jan 14 1970 (obviously not!) Buried in Lathram Methodist Church, Barrineau Park, FL ===================================== From VOLUME II, "Gravestone Registry": ---------------------------------------------------------------- Then, we have a Mollie M. (WARD) WILLIAMS: b. 1875 d. 1940 Big Pine Barren Cem, Davisville. (just west of McDavid a piece, out Hwy 97 and Hwy 4) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doesn't look like what you're looking for, but those are the only folks with those names in the two Gravestone books from the North End of the county. ------- Now, in the south end of the county, there are the following names in the St. Johns: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Asa WILLIAMS b. September 17, 1866 d. Oct. 29, 1952 - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mary E. WILLIAMS b. ---------- d. August 29, 1938 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mary Jane P. MILLER (PULLIAM) WILLIAMS b. Aug 25, 1858, Tolono, IL d. Aug 4, 1948, Pensacola, FL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It doesn't sound as if this is going to help you much, and probably NOT what you're looking for. The ages don't match your census info. Sheila, or Cynthia====do we have those Death Records downtown in the WFRL???
