We met again this morning at 9:30 and began clearing more brush and surveying graves in cleared areas. Bruce Rova and Jerry Flannigan carried out a massive clearing of the high brush. The rest of us managed to survey a 50 by 100 foot section - about one eighth of the cemetery. This first survey will be a draft from which to work as we begin uncovering old graves buried under a century's sediment. Pictures and a more detailed work description are posted on the Old Muscogee Web Site at http://home.mchsi.com/~jerrym151/. Go to the Restoration Efforts page and navigate to the current work date on restoration efforts. I have also posted additional photos of the Muscogee neighborhoods. All of the photos are from the Merritt files and I really hesitate to turn this into a Merritt page but these are the only early photos I've gotten so far. You can view them on the Pictures page. The next restoration Effort will be in two Saturdays on 22 Nov 2003 at 9:00 am. We really need more help so you'll be welcome if you come. Jerry Merritt
