Hello Everyone: Those of you who are working on your lines back to your 1600s American Ancestors will find the1600s Ancestors Data Base to be of great help. My recent postings to the Data Base has taken it to over 26,500 Ancestors who have descendants living today. I have also added several National Societies who have proven many of these Ancestors. Also at this time a few new respected Reference works that contain thousands of sources including some of the early colonists who have Royal Blood lines. All the entries are coded to indicate to which reference work or which National Society has at least one of their proven lines. Several of the National Societies have over 20 different lines from a single Ancestor. When you enter the 1600s Ancestor Data Base be sure to look at the top of each data page for the link that takes you to the "Data Base Information Page" Here you will find the codes and references listed and how to use them. This is must reading to understand the Data Base. We are constantly updating the Data Base with additional Ancestors added as time permits. You will find the 1600s Ancestor Data Base at: http://www.firstfamilies.org/db/ Everyone has FREE access to all our web site and the reports contained there. Enjoy and Happy Hunting Ryan Jackson Data Base Manager America's First Families

the santa rosa co books are available through the milton library (on alabama street) and they are "all they promised to be"!! Eloise Grimes Ratliff
Ruth, After reading your letter again, I'm not sure I gave you much detail. Most people writing for the price, etc., already know about the Heritage Book. It will be published this year by Heritage Publishing Consultants of Clanton, AL. They have published these county books all over AL and have started in FL. I am chairman of the committee that collected the stories written by family members themselves. We also have topical stories on churches, schools, communities, businesses, etc. Our particular book will have 304 topicals and 728 family stories by and about people who lived at some time in Escambia Co. FL. We have submitted out stories to the publisher and hope to have the finished product by Christmas or maybe in the fall. If you have other questions, please write. Cynthia

Ruth, A local committee in Escambia Co., FL has been collecting stories written by people about their own families. This project has been in the works for over two years. They will be published by Heritage Publishing Consultants of Clanton, a company which has published these county history books all over Alabma and are now doing some in FL. Santa Rosa County just got their printed books back last weekend. Cost of the 9 x 12 hard cover books is $50.00 plus $3.75 tax if you live in FL. It is another $5.00 to have the book mailed to you. This is a presale price, good until August 1. We have 728 Family stories and 304 Topical Stories. If you are interested, write me off list for more information. Cynthia I must have missed the announcement of this book. What are the details, descrition, price, etc.? Ruth Armstrong armstron@silcon.com

Dear Carolyn, We are making progress. Our topical and family stories have been turned into the publisher. I expect to get some pages back to proof read in the next week or so. After the stories are proofed and corrected, they will be sent back to us once more to index them. We will certainly have the finished product before Christmas and maybe in the fall. I did receive a notice, yesterday, that the presale price will be good until August 1, 2003 Cynthia Carolyn Clark wrote: >When will we get the book on Escambia County, Florida?? >Carolyn in Oklahoma > > >============================== >To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: >http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > > >

After several people expressing an interest to me in recovering the history of the old town of Muscogee, FL on the Perdido River, I started a web page to both gather and present photographs and stories about Muscogee. The web site is: http://home.mchsi.com/~jerrym151/ It is still in the draft stages but is navigable by most browsers and for sure by Internet Explorer. Netscape still gets missing link errors but I'm working on it. Part of the web site is devoted to a reclamation effort on the cemetery as well and has directions on how to volunteer for periodically scheduled work parties. These "parties" will do everything from clearing brush to recovering fallen and buried tombstones to plotting grave sites by GPS. There should be something to interest everyone who wants to play a part. If you have any stories or photos of Muscogee to share, send them to me and I will put them on the web site. With a little help from Escambia County List, this can become a very informative site. Jerry Merritt 6297 Calle de Hidalgo Navarre, FL 32566 (850) 939-7752 jerrym151@mchsi.com

It's so seldom I run into these areas on my computer.
