    3. I helped on portions of the survey of St Michael's Cemetery. During that time we recorded every name that was legible. The original goal was to produce an on-line interactive map that let visitors search by name. The web site never seemed to work properly for me on the occasions I visited it, though at one time, you could search for names on the site. All I can find now is this site - http://haasgis.cob.uwf.edu/website/cem/viewer.htm - which doesn't seem to allow a name search. It does, however, if you tinker with it enough, zoom in until you can read the names on each grave. I would suggest contacting some of the people listed on the bottom of this page - http://uwf.edu/gis/smc/index.cfm - for info about a specific name. They have the names. You haven't lost your mind, Emily. 2. Seeking any living descendants of John Eayers DAVIS and his wife, Sarah CROPP Davis. Sarah Caroline Cropp was born 31 March 1820, died 22 Feburary 1882. She is buried at St. Michael's Cemetery in downtown Pensacola FL. John Eayers Davis is supposed to be buried next to Sarah. We are also looking for the graves of two of their children: Augustus E. Davis, and Mary Elizabeth Davis. If Mary Elizabeth Davis married, we do not know the name of her husband. This line is related to the YONGE line, some of whom are also buried at St. Michaels. Any information about the DAVIS descendants, or contact by them, will be most appreciated! Thank you. Arlene Hampton AHamptonResearch@aol.com

    3. Arlene, Maybe John E. Davis did not have a tombstone. I did not find a Mary Davis, but there are a lot of the Yonge family listed . I am spelling that wrong, but don't have your email in front of me. I did find Augustus E. Davis born in Columbus, Georgia 30 September 1848 and died 27 August 1867 in Pensacola, Florida. That is all it says. Beside him though is a man named Henry David Cropp died 29 April 1868 aged 38 years and that is all it says. Hope this helps, let me know if you need some more. 3. There's a book in the Pensacola Library with many of the burials but you'll have to go to the original two volumes of the burial records to get the names and burial sites of those without tombstones. Those two volumes are in the Special Records section of the pace Library at UWF. I've found names there not listed elsewhere. 2. Jerry Merritt
    3. Well, Christmas is over and it's time to get back to the Old Muscogee Cemetery restoration effort. It's been scheduled for next Saturday (10 Jan 2004) since late Nov 2003 and the extended weather forecast calls for partly cloudy and 65 that day. We need enough to field two survey teams. Bring 50 to 100 tape measures if you have them. We'll meet at 9:00 am and go until lunch. If you plan to attend, please let me know so I can cancel if we only have a few people. We'll need about six to do the minimum and may have to re-grid parts of the cemetery is there's been vandalism over the Christmas Holidays. With luck, we can finish the survey of half the cemetery this time. To see the results of the last survey effort go to http://home.mchsi.com/~jerrym151/Continued/Cemetery/CemeteryMap.htm The map will include the entire cemetery once we get all of the survey data recorded and reduced. Happy New Year Jerry Merritt
