    3. Yahoo Groups might be well suited for this - there is room for pictures, posting messages, files, etc. There's even a capability for chat if it's wanted. I moderate two groups; one is for the Alger-Sullivan Histoical Society (www.groups.yahoo.com/group/algersullivan) and one is South Alabama Kin (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoAlaKin/). It is as "automatic" as the moderator allows - I screen the members' first several messages - and when I am certain the members are genuine I allow posting of their messages unmoderated. I (hesitatingly) "volunteer to moderate a Yahoo Group for this purpose if you wish to try it. It does require you to go through a "joining" process which means you'll need to use an ID and password to gain access. This is rather painless, but it can assure privacy and security. Let me know. Regards, Jerry Simmons

    3. Lee, You're going to have to be a bit more explicit in your response. What is "Yahoo Groups" and how does it work? Does it need a "keeper", or is it automatic without filtering or screening? Etc. I don't use Yahoo unless there is no way around it, because it's so open and unmonitored. But if there is a place on Yahoo that would meet the needs of those who what to put those types of things onto a site, that would be great. Tell us more. 2. Hi Ginny, Thanks for your reply to my question about writing my memories of Pensacola. I appreciated such a quick response. Someone on the list said they would, but I forgot just who it was. I am not a pro at the computer, I am still learning. Thanks again, Pat

    2. Ginny, Would it be OK to write something like a story, of all your memories starting from young childhood to teenage years? Just kind of leading form one to another. Signing your name including your maiden name? I moved from Pensacola after that. Would we send it to your personal email address? Thanks, Pat

    3. Hi, I am sorry but I only said that I would put something on the Escambia County GenWeb page when someone else had put it al together. I don't have time to take the individual stories. Also, I am not the administrator of the FLESCAMB-L mailing list but I agree with Cynthia that there should be a separate mailing list for Pensacola Memories. It isn't hard at all to start one. Just go to: http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listrequest.pl Rootsweb has a page to tell you what list administrators have to do. Once a list is started, there really isn't much work at all. I am not sure who the administrator for the current mailing list is, but I am sure that everyone would appreciate a separate list for the memories. In 1920 she was still living with her "grandmother", Mahala Wynn, but in 1930 I find her with the others in the Pensacola Home on 705 E Jordan Street. Have you ever tried to obtain her file? 3. In listening to the conversation about Pensacola memories, if all of you would like, I would be more than happy to put them on the Escambia County GenWeb page when you have them together and then they would be available for everyone to see. If they are done in MSWord, putting them into html is really easy! I wish I had some memories to add but being a relative newcomer - we came in 1968 I don't have much to add.
