Judy Hamm, I am going to respond to your e-mail on the List, because there is an abundant amount of people on the Escambia List that has a lot more research material at hand than I do. I haven't been able to find John A. Dixon in anything that I have. He is not listed in the Santa Rosa Cemetery Book. There are a lot of Dixon's in there. I found only one Dixon in my Escambia County books, and that was Lillie Mae Dixon who died in 1985 . Of course there are a lot of cemetery's that I don't have a record of. Rosie Kersey died a year ago this month. I have a copy of her obit. I have a copy of Mary Dixon and Henry Kersey's marraige license, also a copy of Rosie and Hixon's marraige license. Be glad to send you a copy . I never knew that my Carrolls and the Kersey's were intermarried. In my research, I must have overlooked it. As I told you, my Carrolls came from Red Level Alabama. I will post them at a later time, as this is getting too long. I will look into my possible kin file and see if I can find anything on your Carrolls, which are probably my Carrolls as well. No, I never heard of Porphyria being genetic in the family, but when Rosie got something set in her mind, there was no changing it. Thank you for the information, doris

I noticed some of the gravestones have been replaced or improved at St. Michael's. Does any one know who I can contact about replacing or improving a grave stone for our ancestor (Charles Leonard LeBaron) at St. Michael's. His stone is so worn down that it is almost impossible to read. And, would that be the same person or place to find out exactly who is buried there. Or, is there a list in a book someplace? Thanks, Carol
Jenny, One of my great uncles married a Florence Idell Thomas, I believe she was a daughter of John Henry Thomas. She was born 1880 in Escambia Co. Florida. Do you have any info on her. Paula, The Escambia county area was originally settled by people in the Timber industry. And possibly fisher men from the Pensacola area. Hi all. Does anyone know what happened to the family and descendents of JOSE NICOLASA (NICHOLAS/NICOLAS) and his wife YSABEL MACABOY,b1783 Pensacola? I've seen NICOLAS land records there. Think she was the sister of GUILLERMO (William) who was my ancestor. Did the NICOLAS/NICOLASA family have any children that are known? If so, I would love to know about them. Thank you for any help in this research. Always looking for MCVOY, BYRNE, HERNANDEZ etc. Bonnie McVoy Treon mailto:[email protected] Subject: Re: [Alabama] NICHOLAS/CREEL Date: Wed, 08 Mar 2000 14:21:52 -0500 From: Bonnie & Jeff Treon <[email protected]> To: [email protected] References: 1 Hi. I don't know if this helps but YSABEL MACABOY was born in PENSACOLA in 1783 according to the LDS stuff on-line at http://www.familysearch.org and she was listed as d/o Mr.MACABOY but I believe she is the daughter of JOHN MACVOY(later McVOY and McBOY) and YSABEL MELOS(MILLER?) (MELSA?). She married a JOSE NICOLASA in PENSACOLA. (The names were often written in the Spanish form.) There was a NICHOLAS family listed there in land records. Also an YSABEL NICOLAS listed on the early settlers of PENSACOLA. I do not know what happened to her and JOSEPH. She may have been also known as ELIZABETH or ISABELLA. Do you have any JOSEPH NICHOLAS or any close spellings from PENSACOLA FL or MOBILE or MS TERRITORY ca. 1780-1850? Thanks for any help. Wish to find out what happened to this NICOLAS/NICHOLAS/NICOLASA family. Contact: Bonnie McVoy Treon mailto:[email protected]
