Jan, I am familiar with a large FLEMING clan of NC during the mid to late 1700's; I believe one or two siblings actually stayed in NC. However, the others with which I am familiar went to KY and then OH. Can you tell us anything else about John Joseph? Why did he go to NY? What was his occupation? Do you know his religion? Did he marry in NC or NY?
