Hi, I'm new to this list so thought I would introduce myself and see if others are researching the same names I am. Reuben R. FLEMING died Feb 1846 in Pope Co. AR. Probate records of April 1846 list wife, Melinda (father may be Robert LATIMER); dau, Elizabeth Jane; son, William Johnson; and Paralee Murry (relationship unknown). My husband is descended from William who was only a year old in 1846. Other records indicate that William was raised in Johnson Co TN but then returned to Fort Smith when he married in 1871 to Sarah (Sadie) Jane CARTER from Cane Hill, AR. I have not been able to find Reuben before his death or marriage record reported to be in Bedford Co TN. Nor can I find what happened to Melinda and dau, Elizabeth Jane after 1846. Also cannot place William in Johnson Co TN so don't know why he went there and with whom he lived. If you have information to share or are looking for the same information, please let me know.
