Sir Sandford Fleming, born Jan. 7, 1827, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. Died July 22, 1915, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Emigrated to Canada 1845. Railway Engineer, developer of Standard Time. 4. Andrew Fleming, christened Jan 17, 1829, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. 5. Henry Fleming, christened July 17, 1831, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. 6. Alexander Fleming, christened Nov 17, 1833, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. Died in Canada after 1871. 7. John Arnot Fleming, born Dec 5, 1835, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. Died Jan 8, 1876 in Toronto, Ontario. Surveyor/topographer. Was on 1857 expedition to explore routes to Red River. Died unmarried, no children. 8. Jean Fleming, christened April 4, 1839, born in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. The two eldest sons, David and Sandford, emigrated to Canada in 1845, sort of an advance scouting party for the rest of the family, which arrived in 1847.
