Hi, does anyone have any Flemings that ended up in Iowa when they came to the United States ? I have a Arthur Fleming migrated from Ireland to The Province of Quebec, Canada in 1650. His son William moved to the state of Vermont and had a son named,Charles, 1730-1800. Charles had a son named Victor 1755-1845. Victor married a girl named Metcalf and they had five children, Ira Nelson (my great grandfather),Charles, Jerusha, Roxanna and a infant daughter who died. My great grandfather, Ira Nelson Fleming (1830-1895) came to Delaware County, Iowa and settled near Manchester. Ira's second marriage was to Samantha Tony of Pennsylvania , my great grandmother and they had the following children; Charles Arthur (my grandfather),Eleanor May (Nellie) who married a Jack Priest, Francis Amelia who married a Henry Wilson, and Max Fleming. Ira's third wife was Fanny Dixon and they had two son's, Pearl and Pin.... Charles Arthur Flaming, my grandfather, was born in Delaware County, Iowa in 1861. His family moved to Macon County, Missouri in 1865 and he married my grandmother, Minerva Ford in 1883. At some point, they moved to Waterloo, Iowa and had the following children; Everett, Lonnie, Florence, Francis, Alice, Zelma, Fred and my father, Paul Victor Fleming 1905-1983.
