This is a great idea. However, in all of the posts, I have not seen anything on the FLEMINGS of Red River County, TX. Hope someone can help. I am searching for inf. on Irena Fleming, b. GA who married James William (known as J. Will) Rains/Raines 21 sep. 1969 in Red River Co., Texas. We know she had a sister named Emma who married Sie Warren in same county. J. Will and Irena's daughter was our g grandmother. She was Irena Frances Rains who married Henry George Gunkel in Fannin County, Texas Dec. 1895. Sisters to Irena Rains Gunkel were Birdie, Mattie, Lucinda and Mae Bell. Family records state that J. Will Rains is buried in Atoka County, Ok. Haven't been able to find proof. There were several other Fleming families in Red River County. Have not found a connection to ours. They lived near each other. I have a marriage license copy of marriage between Mordicai H. Fleming and Lucinda Trimble Jan. 28, 1857. On the 1880 census RR County is : Fam 234/341 M. H. Fleming m age 50 b. NC R.O. F age 17 dau. b. TX O.A. F age 14, dau. b. TX P. F age 11, dau. b. TX J. TX (farmer) Does anyone have connections to Irena and Emma Fleming (parents or siblings)? Also would like to exchange inf. with descendants of any of the other Fleming names.
