Kathy (No CA) I am descended from two of the James FLEMINGs in Hampshire Co in 1790 - per my notes James, Sr died in Flemington, Taylor Co, (W)VA in 1832; and James, Jr died there in 1846. I believe they came to Hampshire Co from Frederick Co where a James FLEMING m Ann JOHNSON, and began speculating in land there, later in Hampshire Co, then to Harrison Co. The third James FLEMING in 1790 Hampshire Co; was probably a nephew of James, Sr; but I don't have James, Sr's siblings and I'm not sure of his parents or origin (one record has them in Chester Co, PA?) According to my records neither James, Sr nor James Jr had a son named Isaac. The William FLEMING b 1717 who married Jean FRAME and Ann HUDSON, and had descendants in (W)VA also did NOT have a son Isaac, or a grandson Isaac. I also have a record of a John F FLEMING b 1781; d 1853 Doddridge Co, VA; m 1803 Harrison Co, Clarissa ROE had 10 ch, but no Isaac - I'd like to know John's parents (his death record sez John A FLEMING, but you show no John in 1790) There is also a Patrick FLEMING with Will d 1838 Hampshire Co listing 6 ch, but no Isaac. I like your approach - trying to scope out all the FLEMINGs at a certain date, say in 1790. I'd like to hear how you make out - I, too, am trying to find the FLEMINGs in the MD, VA, PA area around 1770-1820 time frame - there was a lot of movement, and confusion in the records, then.
