It's so nice to see all of those Fleming lines, although I haven't been able to connect yet. Here is my story. Hope someone recognizes a name or two. Family lore says that three brothers, John, James and William came to the Colonies from Ireland and settled in Virginia before the Revolutionary War. Before the war they moved to S.C. and fought with units from S.C. James married a lady named Annie. Their children were: John, George, William, Robert and Margaret. They lived in Abbeville, S.C. At some time George moved to Jacksonville, Al., William to Tn., Robert to South Georgia. Margaret never married and lived with William. John married Frances Bailey and they had their children in Abbeville. The family moved to Newnan, Ga. around 1826. The father of Frances Bailey lived in S.C. and fought in the Revolutionary War with John, James and William. John Fleming b. 10 Apr 1787, m. Frances Bailey 8 Dec 1808, d. 1 Dec 1859 in Coweta Co. Ga. Martha married a "McKoy". Ann b. 24 Jul 1817 m. Benjamin Askew 29 Nov 1846 d. 4 Oct 1852. Their children: J.L. Askew, d. Nov 1910 in West Point, Ga. George W. b. 10 Apr 1820 m. Sarah A. Johnson d. 25 Jun 1898. He lived and died in Coweta Co. Ga. Their children: Georgia Ann b. 5 Jan 1847 d. 16 Feb 1928 in Texas Emma F. b.
