I'm just sending data in my files in response to queries. There were several messages about Boaz and this is what I had in my files. I have the data because there were so many Flemings so close in space and time named John that tracking them all helps separate out the data I can consider relevant. I have nothing on your PA Flemings, mine are all in WV, and the Monongalia Flemings were in WV with a John when my John was in WV. I could eliminate a potential marriage record for my guy because it was clearly for the Monongalia guy. I know about old ladies' tales. I've encountered and disproven so many. Their value is mainly as a pointer to where to look for the real information, from a genealogists viewpoint. From an ethnologists viewpoint, these charming tales point to how their contemporaries viewed the participants, a subjective view sifted through the values of the day, that, while not necessarily accurate, does illustrate what was important to the viewer and how they wished to be viewed.
