    3. Hi, One of the things about reworking a database is that new things come together. One of these is that there were 2 James Flemings in the 1784 Tax List, one in the area that became Hardy Co. in 1786. There are also a few land grants to James Fleming in Hardy Co. These are this other James Fleming, not the James Fleming of Patterson Cr., Harrison Co. and Taylor Co. Records that can be associated with this James are: 1782 Hampshire Co. Tax List, James Fleming, with 3 in family living in what is now Hardy Co. 1784 Hampshire Co. Tax List, James Fleming, with 4 in family living south of the Capon Bridge area in the area that overlaps with Hardy. 23 Nov 1789, James Fleming, 140 acres surveyed 17 Oct 1787 in Hardy Co. on Lunies Cr., New Cr. Mt., Little Mt. 20 Apr 1797, David Bagley, 45 acres surveyed 21 Mar 1794 in Hardy Co. adj. his own land bought of Fleming. T.W. 615, 13 Sep 1794. (I don't know what T.W. means, maybe something like Title Warrant) This is all I have on this guy, neither antecedents nor descendants. All that's inferable is that he had to have been born before 1761 to have been taxable in 1782. Bill [email protected]
