    3. Hi, I filled my harddrive and kept entering data unaware and corrupted my database. I've brought up my last back-up, which is a year old, and have been salvaging data entered between the time the back-up was made and my files got corrupted that is in the portion of the database that remains uncorrupted, and I've been entering the land grants for Hampshire county and I noticed that James, Patrick, and John seem to be trading around in the same vicinity, Mill Creek, Patterson Creek, Tear Coat Creek and Crooked Run, all off the South Branch of the Potomac and the South Branch Manor. I have no information on Patrick's parentage, but I'm guessing that he is a son of James. John may be more than one person. The later dates may be Patrick's son, who cannot be the John of the earlier dates because he wasn't born. My John may be the one in the earlier dates, but cannot be the one in the later dates because he moved to Ohio and Indiana and died before the last of them. If the earlier dates are my John, his father, also reputedly named John, would have been a contemporary of James and probably a younger brother, if not an error in transmission and a misidentification of James, himself. What this is leading to, is that James is reportedly from Frederick Co., DE and was commissioned in the Maryland Line. Was there a John in the DE and/or MD records contemporary with James, probably a younger brother? I've only looked at the VA records for my John. Bill [email protected]
