    3. Dear Phil, > Elizabeth died in1904 in Chicago -- she had been a Mother >Superior in the Roman Catholic order of the Sisters of Charity of the >Blessed Virgin Mary. Many of the women in this branch of the Fleming family >became "BVM's" as they are known. Although I don't believe we are related, I would be very interested in information about Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. My aunt has told stories about how my great-grandmother went to church every day and was buried in a brown gown that looked like a monk's or nun's garment. My great-grandmother was Mary Egan and married to a Michael Fleming. They had children (my great-grandfather), John Edward Fleming, b. abt. 1884, d 1917, William Fleming, Robert Fleming, Loretta Fleming. I know John Edward Fleming was born in Jersey City, N.J. and lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. He married Josephine MacDonough .
