Greetings fellow researchers.... What follows is my direct line back to the last ancestor that I'm able to identify. Maybe some of you can help with my research as there are many branches of my tree that has seemed to end. My name is James Chris Fleming, b. 7 Aug 1955, m. 21 June 1975 to Palma Johnson, b. 17 Sep 1956. I have 2 children. FATHER - Clinton Fleming, b. 4 May 1926, m. 24 Dec 1943 to Lessie Mae Johnson, b. 7 Jul 1927. They have lived both in Pike and Letcher Counties, KY. They had 4 children GRANDFATHER - John Jefferson Fleming, b. 4 Aug 1900, m. 24 Apr 1919 to Bessie Ellen Stewart, b. 8 Oct 1903. Both were born in Pike County, KY.They also lived in Pike and Letcher Counties, KY. They had 12 children. G-GRANDFATHER - Solomon Fleming, b. 10 Mar 1961 in Pike Co., KY., m. 20 Apr 1883 to Easter Branham b. 24 May 1964. Solomon died 5 Aug 1925. Easter died 15 May 1939. They had 9 children. G-G-GRANDFATHER - "Fightin" Frederick Fleming, b. 1821 in Floyd Co., KY., m. 18 Jun 1940 to Nancy Anna Wright, b. May 1820 in Pike Co., KY. Fred died in 1878. Nancy died 11 Jan 1901. They had 12 children. G-G-G-GRANDFATHER - Robert Fleming b. 1772 in Dublin, Ireland., m. 21 Sep 1809 to Elizabeth Stembaugh, b. 1785 in York Co., PA. They had 7 known children. Robert died on 27 Dec 1850 and is buried at the mouth of Burke's branch, Myra, Pike Co., KY. Two years ago several of the Fleming family made up donations and put up a nice stone and fenced the gravesite. Elizabeth is believed to have died in 1869. Some accounts have her buried near Robert's gravesite and some say she was buried several miles away. I think no body really knows. G-G-G-G-GRANDFATHER - William Fleming b. abt 1700 in Ireland and never came to America. He married Virginia Buchanon. Accounts differ as to the number of children they had. I need help with a few of the children that branches off from the direct line, however I have lots of information on most of them... not all of course. I need help researching Robert and over into Ireland. Anyone having any information please let me know. Later I will post a list of surnames that I'm researching. J.
