The 1880 Census for Abraham Fleming per familysearch.org shows his family. In "THE HISTORY OF YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA" VOL II, PGS. 134 - 135 gives his bio. In the bio, is a reference to his grandfather, Timothy Fleming, and his 7 children. The bio states that Timothy was Scot-Irish and he came to Perry County to farm. This time frame is figured to be in mid to late 1700's because Abraham's (1836 - 1913) father, Abraham (1804 - 1873). Since Perry County was not formed until 1820, Timothy was actually in Middlesex Twp., Cumberland Co.as seen in 1810 and 1820 census. There is a grave site at Tindle Springs Lutheran Church near Mechanicsburg, Pa. The stone for a Timothy Fleming reads b. 1749 - d.1818. The stone has on it died 1818 and lived 69 yrs, but this death date does not agree with the info above that I know is correct. I'm still looking for Timothy. I have to go back to the Cumberland Co. Library to do this search. I could not find Timothy in the ships I did search. Do you have a Timothy on any ship you have looked at?
