I've not proved that relationship, but I haven't found anything that indicates it isn't true, so it's still my working assumption. Many thanks for that info. Sorry, but no, I don't know what the "J" stood for. In truth, that "J" is low surety. Willie Fleming, William's grand-daughter, is the only source I've ever run into who claimed to know his middle initial. Everything else I've ever seen refers to him as "William". Martha Jane Holland has been a surprisingly tough nut to crack. One day, I plan to head down to Meridian and see if I can learn anything on-site. I'll report any Fleming things I turn up.
