Author: JohnFleming813 Surnames: Fleming, Russell, Ruttherford Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.fleming/2324.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Denice, I am tracking the same family as you are. My David C. Fleming married Martha (Patsy) Russell in Oglethorpe GA in 1803. When Robert Russell Sr. died, the family moved to Georgia. Robert Russell II married Jane Jefferson Rutherford, and their child Martha (Patsy) and others are in Robert Russell II will. Naturally he was in Robert Russell Sr. will as his brother James. The Fleming family was an allied family. David C. I think, was the son of a David Fleming, brother to Abraham Fleming in N.C. His father David, died before David Jr and was orphaned - he chose to live with Samuel Fleming (who married Elizabeth Rutherford) Elizabeth and Jane Jefferson Rutherford were sisters. Samuel & Elizabeth Rutherford Fleming, removed to Bedford Co. TN. There are two David's in Bedford Co., David NMI Fleming and David C. Fleming. The David mentioned above, I believe is same as David L. Fleming. I have been working on this since 1970 off and on, and my deceased Brother Gene (Eugene) Fleming - we called him Tommy as his middle name was Thomas. Named after his father, Eugene Thomas Fleming Sr. I sent a swab for DNA testing (freebe) now I need to find out if my DNA matches with any other Flemings. Most greatful to share information I have with anyone who is running our line. My email is flemco@wk.net Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. jflemming
    3. For those of you who are interested in reading about the Flemish DNA Project (Flanders Geographic) there is one happening at FTDNA. I have invited the members of the Flemish FTDNA project to participate in the new dna.ancestry project so that easier comparisons can be made. I think it would be interesting to compare those other surnames of Flemish origins with our Fleming Surname DNA participants. I hope many of them will eventually upload their results so that comparisons can be made. If you happen to find someone at the Flemish project who has similar marker scores to you do invite them to join the new dna.ancestry project at www.dna.ancestry.com http://www.flemishdna.com/ http://www.flemishdna.com/Project/Welcome.html Janet Flemming Fleming DNA Project Assistant

    1. [FLEMING] FLEMING DNA PROJECT TRANSFER FROM RG to DNA.ANCESTRY.COM (reminder)
    2. jflemming
    3. DNA genealogy services formerly provided by Relative Genetics will be offered through Ancestry.com. Relative Genetics has migrated only SOME of our Fleming participant information to DNA.Ancestry.com web site If you were a member of the Fleming DNA Project at Relative Genetics and have not yet been sent log in information for the new dna.ancestry web site you will need to contact them at dna@ancestry.com to have your results transferred to the new site. Please quote your full name as listed on the old RG web site and your case number and a working email address so that DNA Ancestry can send you your new log in details. It seems that many have not yet been transferred - do not delay as the old RG website will be phased out by year end and we do not want to lose any of the participants in the Fleming DNA project that was being hosted by RG. (Relative Genetics) Email me if you have questions. For other Fleming males or females who may be interested in participating in the Fleming DNA Project now hosted by ancestry.com www.dna.ancestry.com for details of tests available (26 marker and 33 marker Y tests for males & mtDNA for female/males) ps. can all those RG Fleming DNA participants who have already been transferred please email me so that I can cross you off my list. j flemming @ iprimus . com . au (no spaces) Janet of oz Fleming DNA Project Assistant
