He married Bridget Murphy. He died 1876 in Paint Township, Madison County, OH. Hes was Catholic and is buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in London. I know he had a brother named John, but I don't know much about the brother. Does any of this sound familiar? I'm actually descendent of a Catharine Fleming, who I believe had a brother named James. The Newark area is also connected. I also have info on a James Fleming who married a Mary Mason of Newark. Timeframe does coincide with your information. Let me know what you think. Sharon Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. As far as I know, Alexander Fleming was born in Lancaster, PA in 1734 and married Hannah Jennings. They had a son, Ferguson, who had a son, Robert. But there could be some errors. I am not sure. This all started when I was trying to trace the heritage of my great grandmother, Leila Kate Smith from Kansas City, Kansas. Her parents were Fleming (dad) and Smith (mom). She claimed to be Irish and I had always thought that Fleming was Scottish. I can be more specific if needed. Let me know what you need. Thanks again. If you really want to find out for certain who your immigrant and patriarchs are, you need to get a male, (direct line) Fleming relative to join our Fleming study at Ancestry. It is inexpensive and easy to do. If you will send me your pedigree, I will check to see if it is already represented by a current participant.
