Our Flemings-descended from Col. Charles Fleming of Virginia/of Scottish descent, were certainly a part of this. I have written a story of these remarkable people on my website: pixleyblair.tribalpages.com >From my Home Page in the upper left click on 'People' then go to 'Stories' and to: "The Scots, Scots-Irish and the Making of America."
