    1. Joseph Fleming
    2. G.C. & E. Jones
    3. I am researching Joseph Fleming who was born in England. He fought on the English side in the American War of Independence (1775 - 1781). He took his wife Mary with him to America and they had a daughter Eleanor in Massachusetts c1779. After the war they returned to England where he enlisted in the NSW Corps on 3 Dec 1789, and the family travelled to Australia with the Third Fleet arriving on 28 August 1791 on board the "William and Ann". Their first son, Henry, was born in Sydney harbour on board ship on the same day, and their second daughter was born on 1 Dec 1793. Joseph and Mary took up holdings on the Hawkesbury and later the Macdonald rivers, receiving a grant of 25 acres in the district of Concord on 11 Nov 1794 from Francis Grose, with a rent of 1 shilling per year commencing after 5 years. Joseph passed away the same month. If anyone knows anything of the origins of Joseph and Mary in England, or any details of his military service I would love to hear from you. 2. tracey fleming-reese
    3. I am a Fleming from Montana. Very few of us in that state!! My grandfather, Peter Fleming, migrated from near Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland in 1910's to British Columbia. He and sister Anne Fleming then came over the border to Butte and Deer Lodge, Montana. There are lots of cousins left in the Perthshire area. We have connections to Ian Fleming (James Bond author), but the exact connection is not known. There is also family history which says Sir Alexander Fleming, discoverer of penicillin, was a cousin of my grandfather or great-grandfather. I have a pretty good tree on my direct line, but am sure other lines migrated to the US sooner than us. If you have any relatives from Perthshire area, in the southeast area of Scotland, let me know. My living relatives in Scotland tell me that the Fleming's were "affiliated" with the Murray Clan. My closest relatives wear the Robertson and MacGregor tartans because of the female ancestry. My g-grandfather was Fergus MacGregor Fleming who married Helen Robertson and his parents were James Fleming and Anne MacGregor. They all resided near Blairgowrie and Perth. If anyone has any possible connections, let me know. Tracey Fleming-Reese [email protected]

    3. Hello Laureen, I am so happy to receive your short note. Mainly because of your address, My George Washington Fleming liv ed in 1840's to1864 I think,(taking this off the top of my head) near Kokomo Indiana, he had Ann Elizabeth B8 May 1846 My ancestor John b 1833 William F B 16 Sep 1835 Nancy B 16 Sept 1837 Sarah Jane 10 Dec 1839 Susanna b 9 Sept 1841 Marcy 4 Sept 1843 George 11 Feb 1848 James 25 Aug 1850 For some reason I have the old print out and so will have to look further for the newest information which includes two girls marrying two brothers, the fact that one, William I think was blind. And information on what a good carpenter G.W> was until people could not afford new furniture and so he went back to farming and moved to Holt Co. Missouri. I have more information on George W. Junior also. Will look for this. I am totally lost with any information on where he came from except family tradition says we have Irish ancestors and these are the only ones not accounted for . I also have the following clipping information . Old grandpa fleming died today at the home of his son George in Nodaway Co. Icould find nothing more it went on to mention he was related by marriage George /shultz but can find no record of anything in a NOdaway Co. though the Nodaway river borders the county of Holt where we thought he lived , and the town NOdaway isjust across the river. I had hoped some information from there would make it possible to learn where he was born but that is all the papers I could find mentioned. This was late June 1879 --Bev:):):)Have a Happy Day!!!!

    3. How about Robert Fleming b. ca. 1733. His father was with him for he was killed by the Tories in about 1770. We call him GMOF-Grand Old Man Fleming. Robert had 4 sons and 2 daughters and we are a group of about 30 (last count) who all descended from this Robert. He married a "Pharobe ?" and we think there was a Rutherford and a Pliny somewhere for we have lots (8-9) at last count of Pliny Rutherfords in some combination in the descendants. Any help or connections you can give us will be appreciated. Joyce WJKELLY45 wrote: > Dear All, > > I just joined this list as of Mon. Actually i am not looking for any > one in particular. Their other seven children were: Evertt Arthur- born May 19,1884; Lonnie Clair - born July 9, 1886; Florence May - born August 17, 1888; Francis Eliza - born August 10, 1891; Alice Ula - born June 17, 1894; Zelma Elizabeth - born October 1, 1898; Fres Ford - born October 31, 1900. I do know that Minerva also had a sister, Eliza Jane Ford Barrow. I am looking for any family history from my fathers family. My father and all his brothers and sisters have passed away and my daughter and I are trying to make a family history book to pass on to future generations. My father, Paul Fleming, was married to my mother who is Ruth Adele Clare Schmeling Fleming, and she is still alive and living in Seattle, Washington. Any information will be very helpful. Thank-you, Paulette
