I am researching the Altman family that married into the Johns family....and at the moment I am researching Jesse and Nancy Johns Altman....and their family...and I thank Jerry Green for helping me too... This is what I have discovered so far...I have at this time only researched William Hardy and Leonard Altman..... Jesse Altman married Nancy Johns July 19, 1867 in Charlton Co, GA....Nancy was the daughter of William Riley and Sarah Leigh Johns.... Their Children: William Hardy, Leonard, Sarah, Jesse A III., James L., Wiley, Hillary, Martha, Charles and Nellie (or Neller).. The following is who I have researched so far.... William Hardy Altman : 25 Oct 1868 Baker Co, FL - 3 Mar 1941, married Laura Bennett and they had 10 children: Elizabeth(1894 -?) (married unknown Edwards) Minnie(Jan 1896 -Oct 1962)married Auzzie Combs), William H. Jr(Apr 1897- bef 1910), Mamie(1903 - ?), Admiral Dewey(Apr 1904 -May 1968)Carrie Williams), Verdie(Dec 1906 - Jun 1960,Nathan Hires), Charles(Jul 1908-Mar 1987)married Geraldine Crews), Verlie(Nov 1910 -Jan 1997,married William Rewis), Sanada(Aug 1915-Jun 1941,married Eustis Clyde Altman), and Harry (1920? not sure about him)... Leonard Altman - Jul 1870 - died sometime before 1910)...married Vicey Thompson....and they had 7 children before he died....Caroline(May 1890-?), Daniel(Jan 1892 - ?), Sadie(Apr 1894 -?), Benjamin(Nov 1896 -?), Sallie(Feb 1899-?), Leonard(1901-?), Lillie(1902 - ?).... With the help of Jerry Green..I discovered the following: Sarah Married unknown Connors.... Jesse III (Apr 1873 - 1937) married Caroline Davis... James L. (Jun 1875 - Jun 1968) no marriage info... Hillary (Oct 1879 - Aug 1911), never married... Martha (Nov 1881- ?) no marriage info... Charles A., (May 1885 -?) married Ola Dorman Neller (Nellie) (Jun 1887 - Jan 1966) married James Harvey.... I am still resarching this family....but if anyone can help me with more information on the families above, appreciate any help.... Thank you.... Stephanie Grohol
