Ron,Hope all is well,i have a data bank with many union soldiers also,my mother was born in Minnesota, then to North Dakota when a baby,i've found many ancestors from the north. The Civil War prisons on both sides were no place to be.It amazes me what so many had to endure in that war,all wars for that matter.I am involved with my Sons of Confederate Veterans camp alot,we clean and replace broken stones, have memorial services,we have even done the same for the union soldiers when we come across them.Sounds like i am tootin my horn,i'm not it is just something i am glad to do.Anyway take care...David J Mikell ----- Original Message ----- From: Ron Smith To: [email protected] Sent: 5/6/01 7:07:22 PM Subject: Re: Re: [FLDUVAL] Jacksonville Fire of 1901 Hi David, No attachment intended. I had you in my address book. I think we wrote before concerning Apalachicola or the Civil War. Regards, David in Apalachicola, Fl. I KNEW your name looked familiar but didn't find it listed in my archives. When you mentioned the Civil War - I remembered that I had passed your information to my wife for action since (sadly) all of my relatives were in the Union Army. You are doing a great service to the list. Please keep up the good work David. As a side note: I found out recently that my 2nd Great-Granduncle died 27 July 1864 at Andersonville Prison. Have no idea where he is buried, but he is on the list of deaths there. Take care my friend and God speed... Ron in Boise --- RQ !xW --- [email protected] --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.
