I'm not sure how much help this will be, but here's a link: http://www.dchd.net/birthdeathcertificates.htm It says they have birth records going back to 1930, and even if this was after then chances of them releasing the birth certificate don't look good, but that's just skimming the front page there.     3. Thanks for all who replied. I did find the link to the Florida vital records site and proceeded to request the birth certificate. It did not take long to be told by the system I needed to be the parent, child or guardian to get a copy of the certificate. Somewhere in my genealogy ramblings in other states I recall reading a person had to be dead for 100 years before the birth certificate was available to the general public. Something to do with identity theft. Now, what about a person that was adopted in Duval County as a child. Are the adoption records in the public domain or hidden away in some adoption agency?
