CALL FOR SPEAKERS for the 25th Annual FSGS Conference Submission Deadline: 15 February 2001 The Florida State Genealogical Society (FSGS) is now accepting lecture proposals for the 2001 Conference (the 25th Annual FSGS Conference). Among the topics being considered are lectures on Computers/Technology & Genealogy, Beginning Genealogy, Society Management, Florida Research (i.e., history, available records, repositories, ethnic and religious groups, etc.), and broader genealogical topics including methodology, problem solving, publishing, military records, land records, etc. Proposals should include the following information: 1. The title of the lecture and a brief, but specific, outline and/or abstract. 2. Short summary for the program schedule (one or two sentences). 3. Audience skill level (i.e., beginner, intermediate or advanced.) 4. Speaker's name, address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address. 5. Brief speaker's biography (150 words or less) 6. Brief resume of recent lecturers the speaker has given. Each session will be limited to one hour. Presentations should include a brief ten-minute question-and-answer period. Camera-ready syllabus material (due 1 October 2001) will be required for each presentation whether lecture, seminar or workshop. The syllabus will be distributed at the conference. Each speaker will be limited to a maximum of three presentations; however, more than three proposals may be submitted. FSGS conference lecturers will receive a limited compensation package (available upon request).
