hi lists - here's something that i recently found out that is interesting; i called the county courthouse in nassau county (fernandina) to see if they had any sort of general listing of burials. they did not, but a lady that i was switched to said that they had books in the Recording Office dating back to 1843 that held the deeds to cemetery lots. the only thing is, you have to go there in person; they won't look stuff up over the phone for you. you could call them and get additional info or answers to any questions you have. their number is (904)321-5700. the phone number is for the clerk's office; just ask them for the Recording Office. the address of the nassau county courthouse is: 191 Nassau Place (off U.S. 1) in Yulee, Fla. the county offices used to be in the original courthouse on centre street in fernandina, but they have begun renovating the old structure and moved the county offices to a building in yulee, a small burg between I-295 and fernandina. julie thames howell jax, fla
