    3. I do not live in Duval County and am trying to determine how I would I locate Probate Records for Duval County for the year 1859. I have the file #'s and a code 8-1859 file #128 and names. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Judy Rollins from St. Augustine, Florida

    3. you would normally order the records at the courthouse. After a certain year they are in storage and you have to order them to view in the courthouse. I wouldn't recommend just ordering them to be copied and sent unless you are absolutely sure they are the records you want because it can get quite expensive. I would recommend taking the time to drive here and view them first. Most records are at least 1.00 per page and the pages can be allot. But if you view them and sort through what you need you can eliminate quite a few cover pages and other misc. items that you really don't need. Also when I was sure that I had the right name and dates and when to view that file it was still the wrong one. Imagine if I had paid for over 50 pages (it was a probate will). You could start by calling the Duval County Courthouse probate records office. I am sure they can help you further. Michelle
